INSIGHTS I GAINED FROM USRAH PT 2

Today’s usrah is on the topic of Intention. It is important to take care of our intentions in our daily life as it is the root of our positive virtues. If the intention is bad, then the outcome would be bad. But if it is good and for the sake of Allah, then everything that we do from the biggest to the simplest details will get barakah. So every bit of our actions stems from the intention we have in our hearts.

When we wake up everyday and correct our intentions daily, for example we wake up and praise Allah, that means from the start of our day we are doing it for Allah. Consequently, we will have this feeling of dependence which will lead to many rahmah and barakah. We will feel the nikmah or Blessing from Allah and greatness of Allah.

The next part of usrah, we learn about the importance of being gentle to others, including nature. Often, we meet some people who are very egoistic due to their surroundings. That person can be us too. But how do we approach them? Yes, the way to approach someone who is egoistic, is by gentleness. Although that person treats us badly, everyone deserves to be treated with gentleness. Gentle basically means that we are intelligent in controlling our feelings to avoid us from acting unreasonably as a Muslim.

For example, in the story of Musa and Firaun, Allah told Musa to be gentle to Firaun even though Firaun hurt and threatened Musa. Allah is God and he is Gentle yet the Most Gentle so why would we the weak want to act aggressively to people. Other than that, the story of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW where someone insulted Prophet SAW. Saidina Abu Bakr tried to speak up against that person to protect Prophet SAW. But Prophet SAW instead of supporting Saidina Abu Bakr to scold him, he advised to stay patient and not to reply to the way the person hurt us.

So the ibrah from this discussion, we should challenge ourselves to be gentle like how prophet SAW did because Allah is gentle and he loves gentleness. In Syaa Allah if we try we will be rewarded by Allah. Always believe that Allah is very generous, the deed may be little such as us trying to hold ourselves from exploding just because a person hurt us. But, it's huge for Allah. Therefore, if a person who seems not to be nice approaches us, we cannot judge that person directly. Instead, try to understand the factors he is acting that way. This method used Prophet SAW is very effective to attract people to see the beauty of Islam therefore it is very encouraged for us to implement it in our daily life.

I think that is all for this entry. Thank you for reading!
